last summer, i’ve had the chance to visit a multitude of riverine habitats within north and east tyrol, some in a more natural state than (most) others. during that time, i’ve encountered a total of 8 habitats of the german tamarisk (myricaria germanica, deutsche tamariske) along two rivers (inn, north tyrol and isel, east tyrol).
as mentioned in previous posts, myricaria germanica is facing extinction in central europe, and is already extinct in several provinces of austria.
