champagne pool is a large, hot water spring in wai-o-tapu thermal wonderland, rotorua, new zealand. the pool is fed with hot water (230°c) by a deep conduit, which cools down to about 74°c at a depth of 62 m. it is stained orange at the edges by aresenic and antimony sulphur compounds, and it’s bubbling with carbon dioxide rising to the surface from deep below.
